John Weil – NCARB

Founded in 2012, John Weil Architecture is a full service architecture firm based in Portland, Oregon.  The firm builds on John’s 20 years of experience working on a variety of building types including institutional, academic, creative office and residential projects for prominent clients in Oregon and nationally.

John received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon and began working with Brad Cloepfil / Allied Works Architecture right out of school.  Beginning with a Progressive Architecture award for the Seattle Brewing Company and continuing with projects such as the Wieden + Kennedy Agency Headquarters, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Seattle Art Museum the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and a new tasting room for Sokol Blosser Winery, John has played an integral role in projects of varying scales and complexity, all with an incredibly high architectural aspiration.  His role as the Managing Principal of Allied Works afforded him the opportunity to be engaged in every project within the firm.

John Weil Architecture continues this commitment to rigorous design, detailing and craft, while adding a focus on client involvement, project management, and sustainability. Practice areas include programming, masterplanning, design/documentation, and project management. Current work includes the 6,600 sf Mt. Tabor Residence, a remodel and addition to a 1937 Pietro Belluschi house, and multiple projects for the Portland Timbers.
